Home of the Painted Churches

The “Gateway to the Rolling Hills”, Schulenburg, Texas is a friendly, vibrant community and the perfect stopping point during that trip from Houston to San Antonio on I-10 or when you travel State Highway 77, the shortest Route North or to the Texas Valley.

Of special interest are the “Painted Churches”, the jewels of this area.  Schulenburg also offers a strongspirit of fellowship and its festivals are renowned.  The annual Schulenburg Sausagefest isheld in the Spring highlighting the Czech and German heritage with a sausage cookoff and polka music. The annual Schulenburg Festival is held on the first weekend of August and features three fun-filled days of family entertainment.

While many Winter Texans enjoy the mild sunny weather, the excellent economic climate helps provide our high quality of life.  New specialty shops continue to open their doors and modern manufacturing plants go quietly about their business, producing goods in Schulenburg that are shipped worldwide.

Schulenburg is a great place to live, work, and do business. From the small town atmosphere with modern urban conveniences to the rural beauty, one cannot find a better location in Texas. We invite you to our hometown to share our quality of life.
